Early 80s hardcore punk from Glasgow, Scotland. Extremely basic and rudimentary in their approach, MAXIMUM SECURITY took about three songs to warm up to me, but by the time "UK Utopia" entered my aural canals for the the first time, I was completely hooked, and the fact that the guitarist can barely make notes through the generous twisting of the distortion know became an asset, not a drawback. The bassist seems like the musician of the band, with walking and meandering bass lines in most of these seven tracks, and perhaps that's what gives this demo it's real charm and sets it apart from heaps of 80s releases by bands yearning to be the next Riot City act. Political, as you can see here:
and forceful punk that might have been hardcore had it been born a few years later. Seven songs, seventeen minutes, gruff awkward vocals, blown out pencil thin guitar and frustrated drum beats...what more could you possibly want from your punk?

thanx for this one, i saw the name in kill from the heart, but never listen nothing.
does anybody have a demo of a band called "the filth"?
i saw a review of them in a zine (prisoner of charity).

yeah this is cool. i also felt the basslines take it into "awesome" territory. even "dark" territory. And the awkward vocals kind of remind me of this old norwegian band i like called ANGOR WAT. now that i think of it, the music does a bit too. anyhow, good tape!

K-i-l-l-e-r!!!!
been looking for this one thx
Maximum Security were much more anarcho inspired than by the likes of the Riot City roster. Featured Brycey who later featured in the more widely known Sedition. All the artwork on the demo cover is by vocallist Boabie who also did artwork for the AOA album cover amongst other things.
Never heard that one... is it possible to repost it ?
re-upped
Used to be involved in the scene in the 80's. I now live in Barrhead, where the band originally hailed from. My late brother was a close friend of Brycey (who I would like to trace. Found a load of fanzines, flyers and some singles which may interest you,or would be happy to meet for a chat.
