MANIA

Raw fukkn punk from the Silenzio Statico tape label. Long Beach's MANIA churn through eight UK influenced burners - tell me that "Radiation Nights" isn't a ripper and I'll call you a liar.

Good tape, however be careful ordering from SS, especially if overseas. They stung me for $100, which I sent in May, no response to any emails as soon as I paypal'd them. Parasites.

I would hope that your order just got lost in the mix of constantly changing addresses, paypal accounts, and availability. Drop 'em another line and hopefully they can sort you out (they are visitors here and frequent users of a popular social networking website).

"Parasites" is a low blow, and rather unwarranted when referring to a collective of punks who set up shows, encourage political activity and are enthusiastically supportive of DIY from all corners of the world. And they do so with extremely limited resources. I am not going to claim they are the most efficient punks I've ever met, but they are mist certainly not parasites.

*MOST certainly*

Point taken, but that's how I feel about them. They were paypal'd in MAY, 5 months ago. Come on,I know the deal, I've emailed them NUMEROUS times to sort this out, no response. I've done a distro for years. People send me money, I send them the records they ordered, and usually the next day. How hard is it? Another guy, in Italy, contacted me to say he has been waiting 6 months for $50 worth of stuff from SS, so it's not just me. From what I see on the SS website, they have the same email still, so that's not the excuse. We would be quick to call out some big business/corporate type on this behaviour, why is it suddenly OK in the DIY community? (I know you're not saying that, but there does seem to be a timidity about calling out this kind of stuff when it does appear, I mean, how does Fabian of Damaging Noise, for instance, survive with all the complaints about him? It's a mystery). All in all, it doesn't feel like they're
"enthusiastically supportive" of DIY in this corner of the world!

( MANIA has NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF THE B.S. )

SS are a bunch of parasites. They care nothing for the LA scene and cause nothing but trouble. I'm tired of punks thinking that every good band that comes out from LA is associated with these guys. There are plenty of other punks in this town that set up killer shows, make killer bands, and live the DIY spirit. All SS cares about is their rep and how they are perceived to the outside world, but they will get no respect here from LA...

This is true about the statico ponx.theyare always starting Shit. They always rep their crew A.S.. yet they claim on their flyers "no gang or crews"
The bands on the label are good but they stuck up assholes.if Ur not wearing a Italian or Spanish hardcore shirt Ur not worthy of them.they are parasites..

Funny that all these comments bashing this scene are left anonymously. If someone doesn't like you because of your shirt, then that's your problem, not theirs. The scene squabbling is bullshit, you might not like the dudes, but they do a ton of shit. The money complaints sound legit, no one wants to support a rip off, but plenty of people have had good dealings with them too. Every time I've seen any of these bands they have been really chill dudes/women (and I don't own any cool old shirts and don't look very punk), the bands are usually sick, and I've ordered from them a couple of times with no problems at all. Maybe not the fastest distro, but def not the slowest either. Just a different perspective.
And yeah, this Mania tape is great, saw them a few months back and they were great.
