ANOREXIA

I think it's safe to assume that this is not the UK ANOREXIA that gave us the Rapist In The Park single from 1980, though I hope that it is. Just imagine....a bunch of pimply faced glue sniffing leather jacket wearing sods release an EP, and then spend the next six years growing, maturing, and becoming politically aware, culminating with the release of this 10 song demo tape that addresses animal rights in more ways than a PeTA brochure printed on recycled paper with cruelty free inks. This pre-dates AUS ROTTEN by a few years, but that's what I think of here...the singer's vocals are rough and a little spotty, but the music is thick and tasty mid tempo hardcore. Get into it.

This demo is titled Radical Riot.
They also split a 7" with Indecent Assault titled 'United We Stand' 1987.

Hi, nice work on the blog! I was going to download the Rhetoric demo but it seems to have disappeared. I have the original tape somewhere but I was going to be lazy and d/l your rip rather than sort out one for myself :). Used to hang around with these folks (the 2nd line up who did this demo)end of the eighties/90's, if you repost the demo I'll write a bit more in the comments.

This band originally started out in Birmingham as a very 'UK82' Bondage Trouers and Glue Sniffing Punk band: in 1985, they featured Mick Harris (Napalm Death) on drums...
They recorded their first demo with this line-up in 1985, performing their own songs and covers of Chaotic Dischord...

They discovered 'politics' in 1986 and then made the release you have here...

Yep this is Anorexia's Radical Riot tape. They were heavily influenced by the Icons of Filth. I have some classic pictures of this band....I must sort them out.
