ATOMIC SUPLEX

Like GUITAR WOLF on mescaline, ATOMIC SUPLEX blast through some of the most insane sounding rock 'n roll I've ever come across. One side features tracks from their full length of the same name (including a self indulgent and saxophone heavy remix of the title track and a version of "I'm On" delivered with farfisa in place of ear splitting garage distortion), and the flip shows ATOMIC SUPLEX in their element: live and on fire in Tokyo. The don't-give-a-fuck just edges out the bluesy swamp rock sensibilities that drive this band, but the conflict is what makes them so addictive. 24th Century Buddy Holly broadcasting from Mars - broadcasting straight into your earholes.

Hey Wizard, thanks for stopping by. You probably stumbled onto my blog from my husbands blog - No Aims, No Desires. Glad you did anyway. Hope you enjoyed the burgers, although my Chickpea & Coriander Burgers are far superior. Nice to meet you :)

Maybe I'm a bit weird but it seems a rather ironic that there's a link to download the original cassette as MP3s from mediafire on an "I love cassettes" blog. Surely a link back to the band's website (atomicsuplex.co.uk) would be nicer.

Just a thought.

Not sure if you are in fact a bit weird, but it seems rather odd to me that you find the mediafire link ironic, since the very nature of this "I love cassettes" blog is taking the music from those cassettes that I love and sharing the music with others via mp3s. All I do is digitize cassettes and offer the songs for download in digital form, so you'll find that every one of my posts for the last two years contains "a link to download the original cassette as mp3s from mediafire."
Of course, readers/followers are welcome to (and encouraged to) get physical copies of bands' music whenever possible, and I try to link to band and/or label websites to help them in those endeavors. In the first sentence of the ATOMIC SUPLEX post, you might notice that the band's name is highlighted? Well, simply click on that highlighted region and you'll be whisked away to the ATOMIC SUPLEX website, where you can purchase this scorching cassette for just two pound fifty...(and I suggest that you ALL do so)
Cheers - Robt.

**rubs eyes**

Crikey can't believe I didn't see that before. Obviously I retract pretty much all of what I wrote.

I am indeed stupid. Or tired. Perhaps both.
