(Yet another) dose of abrasive atonal hardcore from BEHAVIOR. I had a mental epiphany listening to 2013's Contempt a while back: This band is like EDDY CURRENT SUPPRESSION RING mixed with BONE AWL. It should be noted that epiphanies are more akin to brain belches than facts or informed opinions, and should be treated as such, but every time I listen to BEHAVIOR I get all wrenched up and tense....this 2015 split is no different. Keeping it weird (always) on the flip is MAXWELL GENDERS - one thirteen minute sound(e)scape in two movements. Subtle techno undertones lurking in the shadows of an ominous ambient synth piece that devolves into painstakingly minimal electronics and field recordings, a perfect cool down and an excellent companion.
