Like a funeral procession trudging through....well, lava. There's a distant and quiet thunder from deliberately minimal drums while guitars struggle to find their home, their place, fighting through the haze that shrouds the entire primitive recording. A 4-track creation from the mid-'90s, LAVATONE was unearthed by Full Spectrum a few years ago and offered once again to the masses....it listens like a meticulously crafted work born out of solitude. And thinking of Amarillo in 1994, perhaps that's exactly what it was.
