JAKOB PEK

It's as if the very recording itself has been confined and is yearning to break free. Haunting, painfully minimal, tedious sounds from Jakob Pek spread out over one half hour. A casually tortured offering that ends with a drunkenly happy and seemingly aimless acoustic guitar to close "What Happened At The River," and leaves the listener (in this case, me) simply bewildered. Emptiness Smiles is sonic improvisation at its finest.
