Sometimes you meet people and you have conversations...and sometimes afterwards you really think about things. About your life. About the choices you've made and the path you've chosen. Tonight was one of those nights - a few relatively brief interactions that knocked me in my gut and woke me up. I hope that you have one of those night (and/or days) soon...and I hope that you actually and honestly evaluate where you are, even if what you see makes you uncomfortable. And I hope that you don't just look to the ones that came before you and forged your path, I hope that you look to the ones that followed and lived by ideals instead of examples...the ones who have made their own path. Punk has digressed far beyond a mere commodity, but the root is still valuable and more than worthy of nurturing - both for our own benefit and that of those who do not yet know that punk even exists. Look at yourself in the mirror. Live punk.

Kool deep shit. Thats The path HC Punk brought me to. Nice to actually meet another one there.
Anyone know the name of their 7"?
Oh wow, the pre-Four Walls Falling Richmond VA band Pledge Allegiance. I wasn't sure it was gonna be them, but it is. This is awesome. I know a couple of these guys to this day and they're still in the scene. I have a whole bunch of friends who'd love to hear this. Thanks for posting it.
I posted this link to a Facebook group that a lot of old Richmond punks are in, and some of the members of this band told a whole bunch of stories and gave a bunch of details about this band and their other releases/related bands. That link is here (hopefully everyone can see it): https://www.facebook.com/groups/43601051895/permalink/10151950323136896/?stream_ref=2
They didn't mention having had any 7 inches, just a few demos, so if there is a Pledge Allegiance 7 inch, it may not be the same band.
Thanks for the link Andrew...love watching people banter nostalgically about bands that were little more than brief flashes at the time. I knew nothing of this demo when I posted it, but the music and lyrics so perfectly fit what I was feeling and the night I had just had. Glad to see I wasn't too far off the mark!
Almost positive Sean from Butterglove/Human Thurma was in this band (singing maybe?).
There was supposed to be an official PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE reissue on VICIOUS CIRCLE RECORDS in the mid 00s but got scraped for whatever reason. All of the material was remastered too. I believe from both tapes.
