DELETIONS

I tried to think of ways to describe this DELETIONS tape....but nothing worked. So I'm going to cheat: THE VSS meets BIG SKIN HEARTS meets MILEMARKER with bits of '80s college rock and Britpop just to round out the edges. And sometimes on a Thursday, this is exactly what you need....I know I needed it, and hopefully you did too.

There aren't words that can accurately describe this outfit and the sounds that they present and represent. Psychedelic outsider ambiance with an ear to other worlds both metaphysical and geographical....this release is a start, but you have so much farther to travel, my friends. Pack your bags.

Filthy and damaged noise rock dirges of the highest caliber. I'm not sure how these Midwestern mutants have escaped me for this long (they appear to have called it quits a few years ago...or at least they stopped updating their internet), but I would rather discover sounds like this after the fact than not at all. Comparisons abound, and all flattering, but BIRTH do more here than merely regurgitate someone else's originality - these are fukkd sounds born out of the dementia of others' approach to "song" writing...and the sounds are exceptionally successful. Get ready to get dirty.

BASTARD DECEIVER

Blackened Florida metalcrust that is every bit as powerful as those three words imply. Tampa's BASTARD DECEIVER are ugly and dark, and when they descend into those deliberate mid tempo plods ("Sick Nature" specifically) they go from pure power to shameless brutality. I feel like when bands try really hard to do something new, to push an envelops, to be different for the sake of being different...just listen to "The Void" and you'll see that it's more than enough to just do something right. This shit churns and grinds and it will turn your stomach - pure filth and pure power.

A two year old creamer from these Texas mutants, NIGHT CRIMES take a mere seven minutes to shove six tracks of fierce USHC down your craw. Manic, erratic, powerful, fast, ferocious...and more hooks than grandpa's tool shed. Soundtrack for your afternoon: "Beat Each Other Up."

PENSAR O MORIR

It's almost incomprehensible how pervasive the NYHC sound was in South American DIY hardcore in the '90s...it's also noteworthy how much better many of those bands were than their counterparts north of the equator. Argentina's PENSAS O MORIR inject liberal doses of metal and melody into the mix, elements that stand out pure riff laden stomps like "HC Head" and "Solo Hablas." Vocals are strong and venomous even when melodic and the delivery is deadly throughout, this band sounds like a machine on virtually every track. Quality.
