PRE-MARITAL SEX

Next mission is to bootleg the three PRE-MARITAL SEX tapes I borrowed from that dude in Fresno a few months back. Anyone who can successfully justify this band's legacy languishing in the shadows owes me a sandwich....but that's a sandwich I will never eat because PRE-MARITAL SEX deserve all of the accolades. This band's should be on the lips of people who (still) speak of TEAM DRESCH and SPITBOY, but these women had a fukkn saxophone too. Songs like "Feminine Hygiene Blues" just wouldn't hit the same today, and "Big Scrotum" places a tongue so firmly in cheek that I'm left speechless. So yeah - expect a Tape-ography before the end of the year because it needs to happen.

PRE-MARITAL SEX

Seriously punks, the things you find if you keep your ears/eyes/hearts open will amaze you. As far as I can tell, PRE MARITAL SEX started somewhere around Santa Barbara around 1990 and may or may not have relocated to the Bay Area. Also I might be wrong. Where and whenever they were from, they created a maniacal sex-positive cacophony that was way ahead of its time - California punk with classic UK anarcho energy and early decade USDIY ethos and approach creates some kind of AGENT ORANGE vs. SPITBOY vs. X-RAY SPEX amalgamation and I'm not really sure what's happening but I know it probably pissed off a lot of surfer dude-bros three decades and I know I want more. Fortunately, the kid who scored this demo (and let me borrow it so I could share it with you) copped two other demos....you're gonna get those too. I've said it (many times) before., but I'll say it again now: "You're Welcome."

PRE-MARITAL SEX

I'll say it again: DIY punk in the '90s was fucking special. The utter disregard for convention and rules from a generation of punks who had a solid decade (plus) of punk innovators and trend-setters to draw from and who also didn't give half a shit about what they were supposed to do or how they were supposed to sound....? Shit was special. These Central (CA) Coast geniuses sound like a road trip from '80s Orange County to early '90s SF, but broken down with nothing to listen to but a Dangerhouse comp and a few Crass Records 45s. Like I said....shit was special. I posted another PMS tape last month and there's another right around the corner, all are recommended.
