As I've stated many times in previous posts - I'm not a jazz historian. I'm not a musicologist. I'm a fellow who hears things and sometimes likes them...and is sometimes blown away by them. This monstrous(ly subtle) recording from 1970 definitely falls into the latter category. Marion Brown was an alto sax visionary - dude played on Ascension for fukk's sake - but this 40 minute recording leaves my jaw on the floor.
