MORNING PEASANTS

Do you really need another UK punk compilation? Maybe you do. Morning Peasants hits more of the later '80s crust shits, AXEGRINDER, GENERIC, SPERMBIRDS, RIPCORD and so on, while still covering classic UK ground with KARMA SUTRA, AVOID, JOYCE McKINNEY EXPERIENCE, DAN, CHUMBAWUMBA and others. The peak of this tape is the two tracks from OMNIA OPERA - don't know anything about this band but these songs are fukkn stellar!! This tape was sent in by a Terminal Escape follower, but I promptly misplaced the packaging. So with apologies, I say thank you and ask that you please drop me a line so I can send you something in return.

Thanks for this!

Some unknown stuff here as well. Avoid is always a cheer up in this snowy hell.

Got the 1st CD of Omnia Opera when I went through a spacerock phase in the early 90's. (still love to listen to spaced-out stuff). They played with HC bands as well. Here's more info and an early tape of them:

They (onmia opera) first came to my attention 23 yrs ago on a comp tape; organ radio. sadly I only have the cover left, the tape lost in the mists if time. They did an lp s/t I think which gladly I still have. Great great comp by the way which does come with a booklet, with lots of nice pictures!

paddy in belfast here! i sent u this tape! remember now? i think its an absolute cracker.this is from a time when the uk punk/hardcore scene was absolutely buzzin, all these bands were gigging all over. all dayers in liverpool, birmingham, manchester, belfast. loads of metal heads coming along to join in the fun.going on demonstrations and smashing fuck out of london.we were so political. haha. my fav track on this is by the enigmatic FUTILE. Like nothing else id heard.great trax too,by axegrinder, avoid, hellbastard, dan, etc.and the spacy shit from omnia opera.i remember crashing in iggy's squat in hulme after a manchester gig and put this on and lay down on the sofa to get some kip.it played all nite on an auto reverse loop sort of thing.i didnt mind at all. enjoy, mate.

you are welcome. i must point out that listed joyce mckinney twice on side 2,instead of the generic track.no big deal really. 'futile' by futile is brilliant - such a strange guitar sound, and pure gravel vox. goes on for 5 mins,i wish it were 10. oh,'skin' by p.m.t. still gives me shivers.those were the days.
